This was a new construction install at Belle Oaks Estates in Bulverde - a custom home with a complex roofline that needed a roof system built to match the quality of the build itself. Standing seam metal was the right call here. Not just for looks, but for long-term performance in Texas weather.
Standing seam is a different animal compared to standard metal panels. The seams lock together and sit raised above the panel surface, which means no exposed fasteners and no penetration points for water to work through. On a roof with this many angles and intersecting planes, that matters a lot. Every valley, hip, and transition point is a potential weak spot on a cheaper system. On standing seam, those details get handled cleanly.
Texas weather does not go easy on roofs. Hail, brutal summer heat, high winds - if you're building a custom home and planning to stay in it for decades, the roof is not where you cut corners. Metal roofing reflects heat better than asphalt shingles and holds up to impact in a way that traditional roofing materials simply can't match. It's one of the few things you install once and largely stop thinking about.
The dark charcoal color against the white exterior on this home is a sharp combination. But beyond aesthetics, the standing seam profile gives the whole roofline a clean, architectural look that holds up as the home ages. When you're building new, you have the opportunity to get this right from day one - and that's exactly what we did here.
New construction is one of our favorite scopes to be part of. Getting on a build early means we can work with the team to make sure everything is detailed correctly from the start. No retrofitting, no compromise. Just a solid system installed the right way on a home that deserves it.
