This waterfront build in Granite Shoals gave us a great opportunity to show what 24-gauge standing seam metal roofing can really do. The homeowner wanted something that looked sharp, held up long-term, and made sense for a home sitting right on the water. Dark Charcoal checked every box.
Color choice matters more than most people think. On a waterfront property, you're dealing with humidity, UV exposure, and wind-driven rain on a regular basis. A standing seam system handles all of that well - the concealed fastener design means no exposed screws to back out or leak over time. The 24-gauge steel gives you serious thickness without the weight penalty, and that dark charcoal finish ties the whole look together cleanly.
We partnered on this one with RWF Custom Designs, and it's always a good job when you're working alongside a builder who cares about the details as much as we do. Good builders set us up to do our best work - clean decking, solid framing, and clear communication from start to finish. That's how a project like this comes together the right way.
Standing seam is one of the best long-term investments you can make in a roof. It's not the cheapest option upfront, but it's the one you won't have to think about for decades. No shingles cracking, no granule loss, no moss buildup - just a clean, tight roof that keeps doing its job year after year.
Waterfront homes especially benefit from metal roofing. The environment is harder on materials out there, and you want something that won't need constant attention. This Granite Shoals build is a great example of function and style landing in the same place.
